Overview:

WellSky International Limited, the UK’s leading supplier of Hospital Medicines Management Systems (Pharmacy Stock Control, Electronic Prescribing and Medicine Administration, Chemotherapy Management System), has a vacancies for Project Managers. WellSky’s impressive customer base accounts for around half of the NHS and includes some of the UK’s leading teaching hospitals as well as customers in Norway, Sweden, Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland and South Africa.

To maintain our excellent level of support services to our growing customer base we are looking to recruit a Project manager. You will be tasked with managing projects to support the organisation’s strategic direction.

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have prior experience in project management particularly with implementing WellSky products within an NHS environment.

The successful candidate will be part of a highly skilled team, providing project management services to our customers. The role is to assists in the management of multiple projects while providing project management support to Health Boards and Trusts. To coordinate projects, schedules, track the progress of projects and report results to the Head of Programme. To provide project support and continuity between Sales, Marketing, Customer Services, Finance and Administration. To attend when necessary project board and engage with key stakeholders.

The Role

The position will require co-operation across all departments; operationally the position will report to the Head of Programme.

This position requires a person with a healthcare background and experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Hospital Pharmacy
  • Project Management
  • WellSky products
  • ePrescribing and/or pharmacy IT

Other Experience/Knowledge would be a distinct advantage. The successful applicant will also possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

Located in WellSky’s Basildon office, applicants must be prepared for travel within the UK and other territories which will involve overnight stays.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

Job Description

  • Provide continuity between Sales and Customer Services by providing first line Project Management of new clients to the point of handover to Client Services.
  • Provide Key account Project Management through to Go-live as required and as directed by the Head of Programmes.
  • Providing key WellSky stakeholders clear highlight reports to enable informed representation of the Company at project board level meetings as and when required or directed.
  • Project Management of existing client upgrades for new system releases and deployment of new modules and services.
  • Providing support to Sales and Management to ensure quality, accuracy of contract management relative to product delivery and both customer and technical services.
  • Liaison with Finance, providing key forecasting updates and confirmation of milestone delivery.
  • Report accurate time and budget information using the tool Financial Force.
  • Providing support to Sales and Marketing, including occasional demonstrations, events and proposed bespoke development requirements.
  • Assistance with project management of internal projects as needed.
  • Assist when asked to support go lives.
  • Assist when asked to support change management.
  • Assist when asked to support benefits realisation work.

  2. Proven experience in project management
  3. Proven stakeholder management skills
  4. Proven experience managing a team
  5. Experience using computers for a variety of tasks
  6. Being able to commit to travel both within current and future markets
  7. Understanding, supporting and communicating both internally and externally the company’s vision and goals
  8. Understanding the financial targets of the company and undertaking activities in support of these targets

Relevant Skills

The Project Manager will be required to have extensive product and domain knowledge in the area of Electronic Prescribing as well as good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • The following qualifications and experience would be considered an advantage:
  • Current PRINCE 2 Practitioner Certification or willingness to undertake.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of hospital pharmacy operations.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of electronic prescribing in hospitals.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of implementing electronic prescribing in hospitals
  • Knowledge and/or experience of WellSky’s software products.

Experience with the Healthcare sector would be considered an advantage.

Territory

UK, Norway, Sweden, Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland and South Africa (current WellSky client base).Other Territories as they emerge.

You will be required to travel to all WellSky client base locations and this will involve overnight stays.

Mature outlook, credible, and comfortable in dealing with prospective and existing clients. Reliable, tolerant and determined. Well-presented and business like. Sufficiently mobile and willing to travel on occasion including overnight stays.

Personal Situation

Based at of business location of Basildon you must be willing to commute on a regular basis and travel to all client sites. Able to work flexible or extended hours on occasions when required. Must have clean or near clean driving licence.

Specific Job Skills

Good management and presentation skills. Good communication skills both verbal and written.

Computer skills

Must be adept in use of MS Office 2000 or later, particularly Excel and Word, Internet and email. Knowledge of Microsoft Project would be a distinct advantage.

Literacy and Numeracy

Must be a competent writer of business letters, documents and proposals.

Business Skills

Able to demonstrate success and experience in one or more of the following key areas is preferred:
