Overview:

WellSky International Limited, the UK’s leading supplier of Hospital Medicines Management Systems (Pharmacy Stock Control, Electronic Prescribing and Medicine Administration, Chemotherapy Management System), has vacanies for QC Analysts. WellSky’s impressive customer base accounts for around half of the NHS and includes some of the UK’s leading teaching hospitals as well as customers in Norway, Sweden, Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland and South Africa.

As part of our vision to extend the reach of our integrated medicines management solution we are looking to expand our Quality Control department.

Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, the successful candidate will be part of a small but highly skilled team, testing new functionality as well as enhancements to the current product. Candidates should possess the ability to work independently, although team work and problem solving skills are essential.

Candidates:

The candidate will need to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail together with analytical thinking and the ability to deal rapidly and effectively with complex issues. Experience in using the WellSky (JAC) Medicines Management system is preferred but training will be offered to suitable candidates. Quality Control experience and skills in using automated testing tools would be advantageous. Understanding and prior use of JIRA and Confluence would also be beneficial.

This position requires a person with a healthcare background and experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • ePrescribing and/or pharmacy IT

Location:

The post will be located at WellSky International’s office in Basildon, Essex.

The Position:

The position is a full-time permanent post.

Remuneration:

Up to £30,000 + Benefits

 

Job purpose:

To provide software testing of newly developed features and enhanced functionality.

 

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

Job Description

  • Attend requirements review meetings and walkthroughs.
  • Review of use cases and usability of functionality based on JIRA Epics and Stories.
  • Review and contribute to test plans for Interface testing, Stock Control, Prescribing and Chemotherapy programs according to operational requirements.
  • Implement tests at all test levels, execute and log the tests, evaluating the results.
  • Functional and Non Functional testing.
  • Exploratory testing.
  • Regression testing.
  • All other forms of testing necessary.
  • Generation of defect reports with accompanying data analysis.
  • Generation of test plans for problem resolution software.
  • Retesting of problem report resolution software.
  • Scripting and execution of automated tests.
  • Review of tests developed by co-workers.
  • Training of internal teams on new releases.
  • Support for beta sites.
  • Patch testing.
  • Revision testing.
  • Analysing Salesforce support calls from the helpdesk.
  • Provision of screen captures and text to assist Technical Author documentation.
  • Proof reading of release notes.
  • Any other tasks as requested by the Quality Control Manager.

Essential Skills:

  • Microsoft Office.
  • Logical thinker with analytical abilities.
  • Good Understanding of computer systems.
  • Good management and presentation skills. Good communication skills both verbal and written.

Applicants should be self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook. A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance. Mature outlook, credible, reliable, tolerant and determined. Well-presented and business like. Sufficiently mobile and willing to travel on occasion including overnight stays.

Personal Situation

Willing to locate to Basildon area or commute on a regular basis. Able to work flexible or extended hours on occasions when required. Consideration will be given to home working on an occasional basis. Must have clean or near clean driving licence.
